After the departure of Roth, comes another young German guitarist Matthias Jabs, who begins the journey to the U.S. market with the 1979 album Lovedrive getting gold. In the same line would follow the disks Animal Magnetism, 1980, 1982, Blackout, Love at First Sting 1984, Savage Amusement 1988. With these studies demonstrated a more powerful sound and commercial, which earned them worldwide recognition. [11]

Later in the decade after World Crazy disks and Face the Heat the rose to the rank of most successful German band, but lived the retirement of two of its members and Francis Buchholz Herman Rarebell. But they learned to remove the disc reinvent Pure Instinct and Eye II Eye which showed a renewed sound and even softer touch in his career. Once in the new millennium, the project symphonic Moment of Glory and Acoustica unplugged places on the list again, as heavy rock discs Unbreakable 2004 and Humanity: Hour I 2007. [11]

Currently the band is on his farewell tour with his latest studio album Sting in the Tail, which announced on its website as the beginning of the end of the road that will take him to five continents over the next three years. [12]

Throughout his career of more than 40 years, they have released dozens of singles, live albums, compilations and some live DVD and have received several international awards, which makes them the most successful rock band from Germany [13].

Sales of the band are among the 100 [14] [15] [16] and 150 [17] [18] million albums worldwide, of which 10.5 million have been sold in the United States. [19]

In 2011 the German trade press estimated sales of the band at 160 million albums sold worldwide.
